When the Maestro Kuhn handed Laurin his birthday wishes for the one hundredth anniversary of its foundation it was bound to be something very special. As art director of the Haydn-Orchestra of Bolzano/Bozen and Trento who masters a gigantic range of musical skills, who loves contrasts, even enjoys listening to Bruce Springsteen when he is driving and regards himself as a “natural DJ”.

“In a way, a conductor puts on records concert after concert. A good DJ should consider his audience, some of who want to dance, though he also needs to consider the taste in music which he wishes to put over”.

His new CD ‘Laurin Lounge Mix – DJ Kuhn in the Rosengarten’ is a remix, as refreshing and relaxing as the cocktail list in the chic Laurin bar. And like the drinks at the bar it offers something for every taste: classical, jazz, pop, contemporary music, world music.
Laurin’s Rose Garden (Rosengarten) provided the inspiration for his ‘Laurin Lounge Mix’, the rose garden which King Laurin turned to stone by a spell, though the mountain still glows crimson in its original full splendour at sunset. For Gustav Kuhn it is a highly musical event – without forgetting the contrasts which occasionally become explosive. Cheers!
